SWI AER — reserve your place, not a production bike

$4,000 CAD reservation deposit · 100% refundable. Join The Wheelhouse’s SWI AER reservation queue while SWI develops its new aero platform. The reservation payment is a deposit, not the final price of a frameset or complete bicycle. No bike or frame is supplied with this reservation.

A new silhouette. The same personal approach to the ride. AER is SWI’s aero concept, conceived as one uninterrupted carbon shell in the Veneto. The Wheelhouse brings it to our Canadian SWI range as a reservation opportunity—not as a finished bike available for immediate purchase.

Your reservation, clearly explained

  • Deposit: $4,000 CAD.
  • Refund: 100% refundable. To cancel your reservation and request your full deposit back, contact The Wheelhouse with your order number at ridebikes@the-wheelhouse.com or 403 217 9369. There is no cancellation penalty for this reservation deposit.
  • Queue: your place is in The Wheelhouse’s AER reservation queue. It is not a confirmed SWI factory production slot or a guarantee of allocation.
  • Final order: final price, specification, fit, allocation and timing will be confirmed with you before a separate final order. No remaining balance is automatically charged.
  • Delivery: no physical item ships with the deposit. No guaranteed delivery date is offered.

The 100% refundable terms above apply specifically to this AER reservation deposit. It is not a finalized custom-bike order. Our general custom-order return restriction does not make this reservation deposit non-refundable. Any later bicycle purchase will have its own confirmed order terms.

Where SWI AER development stands

SWI reports that the design, first full-size prototype and Stage 1 wind-tunnel testing are complete. Production tooling is next. ISO 4210 safety testing, a second wind-tunnel session with a rider, and real-road rider testing are still listed as upcoming stages. SWI itself is not taking AER orders yet and has not set the final price.

SWI currently lists January 2027 as its planned launch, when first build slots are intended to open. This is a manufacturer development plan, not a promised Canadian delivery date. Testing and production must be completed before final availability can be confirmed.

What the first wind-tunnel session tells us

At Silverstone Sports Engineering Hub in September 2026, SWI compared a printed AER prototype in size 56 with a production Aequus in size 54. Both used the same wheelset, at 40 km/h, without a rider, across five yaw angles from 0° to 20°. SWI reports an average 11.9% lower measured drag for the AER prototype across those angles.

These are prototype, bike-only test results—not proven production-bike performance or a watts-saved claim. Frame sizes differed and no rider was present. SWI says its Stage 2 session will test a moulded frame with a rider against a reference bike. We will use confirmed production data when it becomes available.

SWI AER reservation questions

Is $4,000 the price of the SWI AER?

No. $4,000 CAD is The Wheelhouse’s refundable reservation deposit only. SWI has not announced the final AER price.

Can I get my AER deposit back?

Yes. The reservation deposit is 100% refundable. Contact The Wheelhouse with your order number to cancel and request the full deposit back. No cancellation penalty is applied to this deposit.

Does a deposit guarantee a factory slot or a January delivery?

No. It reserves a place in The Wheelhouse’s queue, subject to SWI’s eventual allocation. January 2027 is SWI’s planned launch, not a guaranteed delivery date.

Can I choose my AER size, paint, groupset and wheels now?

Not as confirmed production specifications. SWI has not finalized the public AER ordering details. We will discuss fit and build preferences, then confirm the actual choices and price when the platform is available. The Aequus geometry chart and finish palette should not be assumed to apply to AER.

Can I order an SWI frameset now instead?

Yes. Explore SWI Aequus and Aequus Leve, both offered as ordered-on-demand framesets with our road groupset and wheel choices.
